Good prices, really nice bartender but the place, literally located in the cellar, felt a bit like a dungeon. That said, you could take your drinks outside to a lovely view of the surrounding hotel.
Food was good but not great
Great Food. We had a phenomenal experience 👌ðŸ»We will definitely come back.
Great place to be with your family ðŸ‘ðŸ½ðŸ‘ðŸ½ðŸ‘ðŸ½ðŸ‘ðŸ½ðŸ™ðŸ½ðŸ™ƒ
Great food in an old environment with friendly staff. I highly recommend.
A very interesting and intimate setting for excellent food and superior service. I loved the variety of menu choices.
Amazing food with an amazing staff!
I did not have a great experience here. It was very hard to find and there were not a lot of people there on a Friday night, which I take as a negative sign. The food was good and the waiter was nice, but not attentive at all.
Overpriced and under flavored. The scallops looked great but did not deliver. The cauliflower aoli was tasteless. We tried the pork belly and it was really fatty. The decor and ambiance was really nice, just a shame the food did not deliver
Great food and service.
I called Friday morning for a reservation for six people for Sunday brunch. I was told that they do not take reservations for over four.I asked for a reservation for four and one for two and requested tables next to each other.I was told that the manager would call me back before 5:00.He did not. When I called after 5:00 he asked if I was a guest of the hotel. When I said no, he said that they would not take any reservations for me.
Great Manhattan's! Food was good.
Went for dinner - drinks were perfect, French Martini and TTH Mule, but the food was better, rib-eye and chicken. Excellent place friendly service, website says dress up but you could probably get away with just not dressing down.
Fantastic food.
Amazing find! This is a wonderful restaurant. Quiet atmosphere, excellent service, and fantastic food. It's a bit off the beaten track, but well worth the effort to find. Highly recommended!
loved this place, waiter was friendly, atmosphere was dim-lit, little bit of history, and food was amazing! Best burger I've ever had! I even had a bite of what I think was a Philly Cheese steak and the flavor was amazing. Only downside is that I don't have a bigger stomach to try everything! I can't wait to come back!
Meal prices are absurdly high. This is not fine dining and the food tasted just okay. Nice setting though, and the outside patio is great
Great food and very creative, the GM John is the best host everSorry to hear it closed, they opened $$$Chinese restaurants in the King House instead
Our waiter was rude. The food was OK certainly not worth the price We will never go there again
Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend this place. The food and service was great!
An excellent experience, we arrived on a Friday night as restaurant week ended. The crowd was small, but filled the room nicely. The bartender crafted excellent drinks and the newer menu boasted of a nice selection of dinners. We chose the smoked pork chop (excellent!) and the roast chicken (also excellent!) The price is a bit on the high side for our tastes, but the quality of the food, the drink and the decor make it well worth the splurge.
The ambiance is a little out dated but the service was welcoming and pleasant. The food was good, not great but convenient for anyone who is staying at the hotel.
Great food and kind staff.
the ambience is warm and relaxed, with a dimly lit dining room and a fire place but not stuffy or over the top formal. The staff were super professional and nice. The food was absolutely delicious. NO doubt I'd definitely come here outside of Restaurant Week because the prices are not overblown either.. My table of four had the Burger which was one of the best I've tasted. We had the Flatbread with BBQ chicken, the Burrata, the open faced philly cheese steak sandwich --which was probably the star of the day not greasy or fake or lacking peppers or filled with weird cheese. I am telling you, you will not regret coming here and you will immediately pull out your calendar and figure out which day of next week you can spare to come back to Cellar 49.
Amazing food. Great service. Very attentive. We got the crab toast and Caesar salad to start and both were perfectly done. The smoked pork main course was astounding and we topped it off with the Toasted Almond Cheescake.
This gorgeous estate will always hold a special place in my heart. This is my boyfriend’s and mine very first date night. The restaurant is below and has a very romantic intimate feel. I love the old world of this place. The wait staff was insanely friendly and attentive. The food was out of this world. I tell everyone about this place if I get the chance. I hope one day we can come back when we’re back in NY.
We went away for the weekend and we had a great time. We eat here last friday night and the food was great. I wasn't sure if we should give it a try based on the reviews but I'm glad we do. We all loved on food. The only negative I can say was the wait time to get served, bringbour food etc can be much better. Also the waiter can be much more friendly that would make it a lot better. Overall would go back.
I called 4 times to make a reservation for brunch for 10 people. They never called me back. On the 4th attempt, I was told they would NOT take a reservation for over 6 people, because we would have bad service. I said that was ridiculous and asked to be transferred to the main house to complain. Things were no better on that call.We were married here 23 years ago, and this is a big birthday coming up and I thought it would be a nice place to celebrate and complete the circle. Laughable... Customer Service? Not here!
Great food! Great atmosphere!!! Wonderful live Christmas music!!!
Fresh and unique dishes. Great hospitality. I was staying in the hotel. But I had no problems making reservations for two without having to state that I was a hotel guest.
Good atmosphere in a historic speakeasy that has been around since before prohibition. The food was underwhelming and a bit overpriced, but it's worth going once to see the place.
Great food and service
We are staying at the estate. This restaurant is the worst customer service experience I have experienced at an ostensibly upscale restaurant. Room service is really “come pick it up yourselfâ€. Coffee, if you can get them to deliver it, comes in a box! When I didn’t feel well and just wanted a few bites of cheese they absolutely refused even though they have multiple dishes with cheese and could have accommodated. Very disappointing-
